Questions About Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnosis?
The term "hypnosis" comes from the Greek "hypnos" which means sleep.  Although hypnosis is often associated with the weird, strange and mysterious, it is actually anything but these.  The hypnotic state can be experienced by anyone themselves such as daydreaming.

How does it work?
Hypnotherapy works by assessing the subscious part of your mind which is the part that controls beliefs and habits as well as where your memories are stored.  All of these are very important when working to change those habits or beliefs and helping you move forward in life.

Am I in control?
Yes! Despite what many people have seen or believe about hypnosis, the client is always in control.

What can Hypnosis treat?
This is not an exhaustive list but is designed to give you an idea how powerful hypnotherapy can be:
  • Anger Management
  • Childbirth
  • Confidence
  • Self Esteem
  • Motivation
  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Insomnia
  • Addictions
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Pain Control
  • Panic Attacks
  • Past Life Regression
  • Phobias
  • Work & Sport Performance
  • Smoking Cessation
  • Anxiety
  • Weight Loss
  • Stress
Can I talk to you before I commit myself?
Absolutely.  It's vital that you feel comfortable with me as your therapist so I offer a FREE mini-consultation either face to face or via telephone so you can ask me questions and see whether what I can offer you is what you are looking for.

Can anyone have hypnotherapy? How do I know that I am suitable for it?
Despite what many people believe EVERYONE can be hypnotised.

What if I don't like it?
During your sessions with me as your hypnotherapist you will experience deep relaxation which, for nearly everyione, is a lovely state to be in!

Will I remember what happens to me?
That depends on you as an individual.  Many clients remember parts of the session but it doesn't matter if you can't.  Remember that during hypnosis, we are working with the subconscious part of the mind.

How many sessions will I need?
Although there can be exceptions, most people can resolve their issue within 1-3 sessions.

Are you qualified?
Absolutely.  I am a UK qualified hypnotherapist registered with the British Institute of Hypnotherpy as well as the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.
